"Thomas Bennett, a resident of Westport, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Willapa Care Center in Raymond. Tommy was born in Seattle, Wash. April 24, 1950. He graduated from Chief Sealth High School, then joined the Coast Guard Reserve, serving his time as a radioman in New York City. Tommy began deckhanding on charter boats in Westport WA when he was 14, obtained his captain\\'s license at 19 years old, and made fishing his career until he retired. Tommy and his dad built the Carter Boat \\\Spindrift\\\"" in their shop in Seattle. He also worked for WDFW (Washington Fish & Wildlife)." When he wasn\\'t ocean fishing, he could often be found steelheading on local rivers. He is survived by wife Laksamon (Nok) Bennett, sister Gerrie Kellogg, Nephews David & Jason, along with many friends.
