Sisavanh Setthavongsack, a Raymond resident, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home; he was 61. Sisavanh was born in Savahnakhet, Laos. He met Douangdeuane Sihathep while in Laos and they were married. He was recruited by the United States CIA while still living in Laos and became part of the U.S. Secret Army during Vietnam war. He was captured as prisoner of war before escaping and ended up in a refugee camp prior to coming to America. Sisavanh was a member of the American Legion Post 150 in Raymond. He was very proud of his service. As a hobby he loved to fish, always having a great time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Douangdeuane of Raymond, two daughters Daovanh Setthavongsack and her husband Anh Bui of Portland, OR and Daovy Setthavongsack of South Bend, WA; Sisavanh is also survived by three granddaughters, five sisters and a brother. Traditional Buddhist services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October, 20, 2016 at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
