Sandra Kanick

September 17, 1941 — April 24, 2014

Sandy was born in Providence, RI and resided in Lynn, MA where she raised her family. In 1980 Sandy moved with her children to WA and resided in Lebam, Raymond and South Bend, WA. Sandy passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital. She was preceded in death by her son Arthur (Butch) W. Hudson III, daughter Robin Rae Hudson, her brother John Kenneth Lawton and her parents Muriel (Mimi) Welch and Melvin (Red) Lawton. She is survived by her children Kathy (Hudson) Bale, Wayne Hudson, Bethan (Hudson) Faulkner, and Judi (Hudson) Fitzgerald, her brother Bert (Skeet) Lawton, her sister Judi (Lawton) Burrows and by her grandchildren Matthew Bale, Timothy Bale, David Bale, Hannah (Bale) Roberts, Bethany Bale, Amy Faulkner, Shelby Fitzgerald, Thomas Fitzgerald, Jeremy Faulkner, James Bale, Jessica Bale and 7 great-grandchildren. She worked at Willapa Harbor Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She also worked as a Health Unit Coordinator prior to her retirement in 2012. During her retirement she took short trips, enjoyed spending time with family, loved reading, exploring the internet, photography and spending time at the beach. A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Church, 707 Commercial St. Raymond, WA on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 12:00 (noon) with a reception to follow. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family has chosen to have donations made to the Sunshine House at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, WA. Sandy will be remembered as a loving person with many friends. She will be deeply missed by many. Thank you Sandy for bringing sunshine, happiness and love to us all.
