Russell Wiitala

Russell R. Wiitala, a Bay Center resident died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond. He was born July 20, 1925 in Portland, OR to Einer and Mary Elaine (Silvola) Wiitala. Russell enjoyed sturgeon and salmon fishing and spending time gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Post #150. He is survived by his wife Carol, a daughter Teresa Keippela of Raymond and a son Russell A. Wiitala also of Raymond. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma in 1992; also preceding him was a brother Alton and a sister Mary Elaine. Private services will be held at a later date.
