Ronald E. Pierson, a Raymond resident, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Montesano Health and Rehab Center; he was 79. Ron was born in Tacoma, WA. He did not finish high school before enlisting in the Marines. He contracted Tuberculosis and was honorably discharged. He worked at NAPA in Olympia for 30 years until his move to Menlo to operate Tombstone Willies Tavern for his son Kim until his health issues forced him to give it up. Ron was a Cowlitz Elder. He is survived by his sister Marcia and her husband Tom in Boise, Idaho; his children Kim, Kelly, Kristy and Kathy, and many grand and great grandchildren. Ron’s beloved life companion, Karleen Colburn, of almost 18 years and her family that he enjoyed thoroughly also survive him. To honor his wishes there will be no funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ron’s memory to the Raymond Ambulance Fund 212 Commercial St., Raymond, WA 98577 or the Willapa Harbor Helping Hands at PO Box 597, South Bend, WA 98586. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s mortuary in Raymond.
