Roger Smith

Roger Lawerence Smith born September 28th, 1940 passed away on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. He was son to Lawerence (Yvonne) Smith and Eleanor (Bill) Ketchum. Roger is survived by his wife, Darlene Smith, son Roger Smith (Stephanie), daughter Diane Foultz (Eric), two grandsons Gavin and Ian, his four siblings Sally, Penny, Larry, and Pam, and step-mother Yvonne Smith. Roger was raised in Orangeburg, NY, joined the Coast Guard when he was 18, and then became a driver for North American Van Lines. Roger met Darlene R. Busche a short time later when he was 22 and she was 18 and living in Indiana. The two married three years later on December 10th, 1966. Roger and Darlene raised their two children, Roger and Diane, in Tacoma, WA and then later moved to Raymond, WA in 1993. A potluck celebration of life will be held for Roger at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Swiss Hall in Frances, WA 19 Swiss Picknik Road, Frances, WA. All are invited to attend.
