John Konigsberger, a longtime Raymond resident died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond; he was 97. John was born February 18, 1917 in Deutsche Mokra, Germany to Blasius and Marie (Preinesberger) Konigsberger.
He moved to the United States 61 years ago, settling in Raymond in 1952 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1962.
John worked road maintenance for Pacific County, retiring after 35 years.
He enjoyed fishing, clam digging and gathering mushrooms, making sausage and sauerkraut. John had made many trips traveling back to Germany. He loved his family dearly, John will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a daughter Helga (Larry) Iverson of Raymond, a son Vince (Lesli) Konigsberger of Toledo, a sister Paulina Zauner of Eyachtal, Germany, a cousin Vince Preinesberger of Raymond, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive him. John was preceded in death by sons Horst and Steve Konigsberger.
