John A. Holt 55, a former longtime Raymond resident and resident of Olympia for the past 29 years died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at a Tacoma facility. John was born October 4, 1959 in Chehalis, WA to Glen and Helen (Woroch) Holt. He was raised and went to school in Raymond where he graduated in the class if 1978. He then went to Clover Park Technical College where he graduated in 1979. He had worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service and had been Postmaster in Vader before taking early retirement in 2011. After retirement, John put together an online radio station where he shared his love of funny music with anyone in the world who wanted to listen. He was a life long Green Bay Packers fan, and even wore a Packer jersey at the last super bowl, just for kicks from the hawk fans. He was a fan of Batman and always dreamed of owning a Bat Mobile, which he finally got by having one custom built in B.C. It was completed and delivered in time for him to get a ride. He is survived by a daughter, Julie, and her husband Kevin Ryan of University Place; a son, Aaron Holt of Olympia and his mother, Helen Holt of Olympia. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond. A gathering will follow at the Raymond Elks Lodge.
