Helen Louise Settlemyre, 94, passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2024, in Tacoma, WA. Helen was born January 21st, 1930, in South Bend, WA, to Earl and Iva Howe. She married Phenis C. Settlemyre on June 28th, 1947, in Raymond and they remained residents of the area for their married life.
Helen was well known in the nursing field. She graduated from Centralia College in June 1968 and had an LPN degree; she kept her license active well into her 70's. Almost all of her career was in the Willapa Harbor area.
She was a Jehovah's Witness and attended The Kingdom Hall in Raymond for many years.
Helen's Husband, P.C. preceded her in death in 2004, as well as her parents and brother, Earl Howe Jr. She is survived by four children, Becky (Larry) Lee, Lance (Annette) Settlemyre, Marsha (Alan) Seaton, and Brian (Trish) Settlemyre, a sister Diane of Chewelah, WA. Helen also has 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A private service will be held on May 21st, 2024, at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, WA
