Hazel Johnson passed away at her home in Raymond Wa. at 96 years old surrounded by her caregivers and son and Daughter in law. Hazel was born March 5th, 1928, in Shelburn Oregon. She was the first one in her family to graduate from high school in Aumsville Oregon. After high school she went to work at the TB clinic in Salem Oregon for many years until she married Arlie (Bill) Johnson in Aumsville Oregon and moved to Raymond after their marriage. Hazel became a housewife and partner to Bill, they had three boys, Ronald Johnson and wife Ronda, Richard Johnson and Timm Johnson. She also worked for many years at the nursing home in Raymond.
In addition to her parents, Bertha Leimkuhl Briles and Dewey Briles, Hazel is predeceased by her husband Bill, two of her sons, Richard Johnson and Timm Johnson, ten of her siblings, Leon, Helen, Earl, Ruth, Bob, Max, Guy, James, Shirley and Jack. Hazel is survived by her brother Jerry and his wife Lori who have been wonderful to Hazel in the last several years since Bill passed, taking care of her and checking on her daily. Also, her son Ronald and wife Ronda, who checked on Hazel daily taking her to many places and on several trips to see family. As well as her son in law Jim Anderson, Timms Husband, her Grandchildren Ronnie Johnson, wife Kendal, Ryan Johnson, wife Stevie, Heidi Hammond, husband Larry, Scott Johnson, wife Nikki, Patrick Oechsner, wife Shawna and Alson Oechsner and so many wonderful attentive grandchildren who loved her.
A private family internment will be held Friday March 15th in Salem Oregon, Life celebration will be held Saturday March 23rd at 1:00 pm at Grace Community Church 609 Quincy Street South Bend Wa. Cake and punch will be served after the service.
The Family would also like to take time to thank her friends who stood by Hazel over the years helping her, checking on her daily, taking her places and celebrating milestones with her. Barbara Martin, Bessy and Joe Hubbard, Dave and Jan McVay, Jean Tapscott, and Sandra Givens. and many more.
We would also like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Sierra Rudis, Lacey Dokter Lynch and Kimberly Summers, who provided phenomenal care to Hazel in her final months. We would have never gotten through this without them. They treated Hazel like a princess with compassion, and love. Hazel depended on them and loved having them with her. They were such a comfort to the family and knew all the answers to our millions of questions.
