Glenn Monroe Hewitt Jr., a South Bend resident, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Avamere at Pacific Ridge, Tacoma, WA. Glenn was born April 25, 1929 in Sunnyside, Washington to Glenn Monroe and Rachel Elizabeth (Gosnell) Hewitt. Glenn was raised in Sunnyside, WA married Vera Margaret Thomas May 17th 1953 in Bremerton, WA. Together they moved to East Raymond in 1971, making a permanent home in South Bend in 1973. Glenn retired in 1987 after 30 years for Bureau of Reclamation and Bonneville Power Admin. Control Room Operator of Coulee Dam, and Glen Canyon Dam of Page, Arizona; all before coming to Raymond as sub-station operator for six sub-stations, from Pe Ell to Long Beach. Glenn enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, trains and growing flowers. He had a wonderful singing voice and loved the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Vera of South Bend, a son and daughter-in-law Steven Jay and Pam Hewitt of Aberdeen, and their daughters Sarah Behmer and Becky Hewitt. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
