Elsie Amacher passed away of natural causes on February 23, 2017 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center at the age of 100 years, 5 months. Elsie was born on September 13, 1916 in Bantry, North Dakota. She was one of 14 children born to Henry and Louise Griess Schapp. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday at the Willapa Methodist Church surrounded by many family members and friends. She was a member of the Willapa Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of the Eagles, Aerie #1631, and the Lewis-Pacific Swiss Society. She was active in the Ladies Aide of the Willapa Methodist Church for many years. She was a great cook and was especially known by her immediate family for her delicious wild blackberry pies.
