Dawn Marie Henrie, 66, Raymond WA, died suddenly on March 24, 2023.
Dawn was born in Portland, Oregon to her parents Ann and Lee. Dawn had two older siblings, David and
Sue, and two younger siblings, Mark and Laura. They grew up in Portland and moved to Hood River.
Dawn graduated from Hood River High School in 1975.
Dawn met Jim Henrie at a logging show in Estacada Oregon in 1977. They married in 1978 and moved to
Morton Washington. They welcomed their first child, Rebecca, shortly after. In 1980 Dawn gave birth to
twins, Mike and Dan. They moved to Raymond soon after and bought their first home in 1983 in
“Riverview” and remained in that big purple house for forty years and it was full of fond memories.
Dawn was a great mother. She sacrificed everything for her children. Dawn taught her kids about life
and instilled work ethic in them from a young age. She taught them everything she could from cooking
and sewing to reading and writing. Most importantly, she taught them to have fun. Dawn had a great
sense of humor and loved to laugh. Dawn was the number one fan of her kids in sports. She loved the
Seagulls, Honey Bees, and the Seahawks (especially Pete Carroll).
Dawn was a mother to many just like the other Riverview moms who shared parenting duties in the
neighborhood. Dawn loved having kids over after school. It was the ultimate honor to get your own
personized cup from Dawn.
Once the kids were out of the nest Dawn loved to garden, quilt and travel. Dawn waited impatiently to
be a grandmother. Her son Mike and wife Kali finally took the heat off the rest of the siblings when they
blessed the world with their daughter Clarice. Dawn was instantly in love and her gramma dreams came
true. Her son Dan and wife Leigh added two more with their son Beau and daughter Isla. Dawn loved
being Gramma Dawn. The grandkids loved seeing her to get spoiled and get away with some good ole
fashion potty talk.
Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Ann and Lee, husband Jim and her dog Gracie.
Dawn is survived by her sisters Laura and Sue, brothers Mark and David, children Rebecca, Mike and
Dan, daughters-in-law Kali and Leigh, grandchildren Clarice, Beau and Isla.
