David Ellis Fackrell, Jr., a South Bend resident died February 26, 2014 at his home; he was 79. David was born April 17, 1934 in Raymond to David Ellis Fackrell, Sr. and Hilda Ada (Wikstrom) Fackrell. David attended Raymond High School, participating in Football and Track, graduating in 1952. He married Etta Sue in Bremerton, WA June 18, 1966, she preceded him in death in 2000. David worked for Weyerhaeuser for 20 years and then became a self employed Landscaper for another 20 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Boyscout Leader of Troops 24 & 40, volunteered for Pacific County Search and Rescue and coached Little League Baseball teams. David earned his Associates of Arts degree from the Grays Harbor College in 2003. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, where he hunted, fished and collected rocks. He is survived by three sons, David Ellis Fackrell III, Scott Ellis Fackrell and James William Fackrell, a sister Myrna Peterson of Federal Way and dear friend Mike May also survive him. David was preceded in death by a sister Nora Megee and good friend Gene Dennett. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Raymond with burial to follow at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo. Arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
