Cecil Glenn Moore, 99, of Bay Center, Washington, passed away July 7th, 2024. Cecil was born June 24, 1925, on Moore's Hill in Bay Center, Washington. His parents were Roy Moore and Emma Rhoades Moore. Cecil was raised in Bay Center on Moore's Hill and was a South Bend High School graduate. Cecil left high school early to join the Navy in 1943. Cecil was a World War II veteran who served for three years in the Solomon Islands and Pasco Airfield. Cecil married Gladys Holmes Moore on December 8, 1947, and they were married for 63 years before she passed away in 2010. They had two children, Arnold Moore (Kathryn Clark Moore) and Delores Moore Sowa (Richard Sowa Sr.), five grandchildren, Aaron Moore (Brooke Moore), Nathan Moore, Sarah Moore Francisco (Bryan Francisco), Zorah Sowa, and Richard Sowa Jr. (Jessica Sowa), and 5 great grandchildren, Ezra Moore, Jonas Moore, Silas Moore, Olive Moore, and Maddie Sowa.
Cecil worked many jobs in his years, he was a fisherman and oysterman on Willapa Bay and also did construction and boat repair. He ended his career retiring from the Pacific County Road Department. Cecil loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding and rebuilding Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He also enjoyed working around his house and out in his yard.
A service will be held Saturday August 3rd, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at 18 Moore Rd. Bay Center, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Willapa Harbor Helping Hands or Pacific County Guns and Hoses.
