Candace Earls

September 29, 1956 — August 19, 2024

South Bend

Candace “Candy” Earls was born September 29,1956 to Bessie Mae and Glen Earls in Fresno, California. Sadly, she passed away on August 19, 2024. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Being born to a military family, she experienced many homes from one coast of the US to the other. Her early adult life saw her settling in Swain County, North Carolina where many of her family and friends still call home.

In 1989, Candy came to South Bend, WA with her young family, where she lived until her passing. Candy married three times in her life: once to the other half of her soul, the second gave her bonus kids she treasured and the third was the last love of her life.

She attended college late in life and found her true passion at St. Martin’s College where she earned a master’s degree to help those with trauma induced PTSD, anxiety and depression.

In the last years of her life, Candy continued to enjoy the best things in life. She took long walks with her pets, tended her chickens, and caught up with those she loved. She never missed a sporting event or special occasion if it could be helped. She loved to travel and often spoke of “her feet walking new dirt” as a way of saying she was about to go on another grand adventure.

She was proceeded in death by her best friend, Danny Oliver, her husband, Chris Huse, her parents, and her two brothers.

She is survived by her children, Kim Oliver and Anton Petrich, Corey and Tracy Flynn, Joe and Amanda Oliver, John and Janelle Huglen; and too many bonus children to name them all. Her grandchildren include Chase and Josh Flynn, Uriel Zeferino, Austyn and Dominic Oliver, Josie Oliver, and Jordan Carrazco. Again, there are too many others who called her “Nana” to name them all. Each and every bonus child or grandchild meant the world to her and were her pride and joy as well.
