Robert “Bob†Carl, a Raymond resident, died Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born July 31, 1941 in Elma, Wash. to Blair and Verna Bailey Carl, their oldest son. Bob attended Montesano High School and graduated from Mary M. Knight in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy reserves in high school. After high school he served in the Navy for two years from 1959 to 1961. He married Virginia Secrest on May 1, 1961. They enjoyed 57 years together, she resides at the family home along with their grandson Kyle Schaffer and his beloved cat, Orange. They had two daughters, Kasey Carl and Robin Schaffer, and a second grandson Justin Schaffer all of Olympia, Wash. Bob is also survived by a sister Barbara (Ken) Hoop, and two brothers Larry (Charlene) Carl, Mike (Margaret) Carl as well as many nieces and nephews. He worked as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Pacific County for 10 years and for the Raymond Police as Captain of the Reserves for twelve years. Bob also spent time working for Willapa Harbor Motors, Dennis Company, the Raymond School District, the Pacific County Shop, and Chevron before opening his own shop Bent Wrench Auto Repair. At 74 years old he retired and closed the shop. He loved cars, riding his motorcycle, and Nascar. He met his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr. in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was also a member of the Pacific County Cruisers and a lifetime member of the Willapa Harbor Gun Club. Bob loved this community and his family. He recently stated, he had a great life and a great wife. Thank you everyone for all you did and do in this great community! There will be no service at this time.
