Arlie Arden Johnson, a longtime Raymond resident died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his home. He was 92. Arlie was born on January 15, 1926 in Dodson, MT to Louis and Ethel (Gloyn) Johnson. He married Hazel Briles in June of 1950 in Aumsville, Oregon, she survives him at the family home in Raymond. Arlie was well known for his tireless work ethic. He was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver in the timber industry, his truck was very well cared for to say the least. Arlie worked locally for Art Hammond and Lovins Logging, retiring at 86 years old. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with family. Arlie rarely missed a clam tide. He also cherished time spent with his grandchildren and was a faithful member of Grace Community Chapel in South Bend. Arlie is survived by his wife, Hazel Johnson of Raymond; his son Ronald Arlie (Ronda) Johnson of Doty; his brother Larry (Janet) Johnson of Raymond and his sister Tina Casteel of Montesano. He is also survived by grandchildren, Heidi (Larry) Hammond, Scott Johnson, Ronnie (Kendal) Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Patrick (Shawna) Oechsner and Alison Oechsner; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Arlie was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allen Johnson and Timothy Arden Johnson, and brothers and sisters Enid, Lily, Mary, Dolly, Ken, Orley, Earl, Joe and Clayton. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Grace Community Chapel in South Bend followed by a potluck luncheon. Memorial donations in Arlie’s memory may be made to the Grace Community Chapel, P.O. Box 42, South Bend, WA 98586. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond, Washington.
